Annalara White Dorper Stud is based at Dungary, near Dubbo in Central West N.S.W. Originally ran under the harsh pastoral conditions at Annalara Station, Wilcannia in the western side of the state, the Wilcannia conditions were an exemplary statement for the breed as they not only survived they increased weight gaining higher yielding carcasses. This breed is an refreshing breed that consistently thrives in any environmental and economic conditions.

Annalara Station originally ran merinos but with years of devastating drought and lambing percentages between 30% and 40% Dorpers were introduced with the intention to concentrate on meat production. The first year's production saw the lambing percentage double and the weaning weight increased considerably creating a larger yield leading to profitability.

Today Dungary Station runs 1,800 ewes which are joined twice per year for high productivity. In 2005, it was the first year that we did not shear all the stock although we shore F1 and F2's as there fleece was still valuable.

With AWD producing high yielding carcasses in the Hoof and Hook competition 2016 of 50.5% and 50.0% it produced a 3rd place with a larger offering of trade lambs on offer. These yields are achieving excellent returns for our clients and ourselves as we look to be consistent well into the future.
